Generative AI Policy

The Journal of Actuarial, Finance and Risk Management (JAFRM) allows the limited and responsible use of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in manuscript preparation and research.

AI may be used to support activities such as language improvement, readability, organization, translation, literature mapping, and technical presentation. However, AI must not replace the authors' critical thinking, scientific judgment, analysis, interpretation, or original contribution.

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, integrity, originality, and final content of their manuscripts. AI tools must not be listed as authors or co-authors and must not be used to fabricate or manipulate data, results, references, citations, or other research content.

If AI is used substantially in manuscript preparation or as part of the research methodology, data analysis, modelling, coding, or visualization, its use must be disclosed transparently in the manuscript. Basic spelling, grammar, and punctuation checks do not require disclosure.

Authors should protect confidential information, personal data, unpublished research, and intellectual property when using AI tools.

AI Declaration

When disclosure is required, authors should include the following statement before the References: 

During the preparation of this work, the author(s) used [name of tool/service] for [purpose of use]. The author(s) reviewed and verified the output and take full responsibility for the content of the publication.
