Style Guide for Opinion Articles

  1. We welcome Opinion Articles that give the authors’ perspective on a topical issue and make a useful addition to the scholarly literature. Where appropriate, authors should provide a balanced view of different opinions in the field and make it clear where they are expressing their own personal views and why. Opinion Articles must represent scholarly discussion based on previously published literature and not include new research and data. The length of the submission should be between 2000- 4000 words.
  2. All articles must be written in good English or Indonesian. Please note that the article will not undergo editing by editorial team before publication and a manuscript could be rejected during the initial checking process if it is deemed unintelligible and unsuitable for peer review.

  3. Details of each author’s contribution must be listed in the Author contributions section. Anyone who has contributed but does not meet the criteria for authorship should be listed in the Acknowledgments section. The involvement of any professional medical writer assistance must be declared.

  4. Please provide a concise and specific title that clearly reflects the content of the article.

  5. Abstracts should be up to 150 words long and provide a succinct summary of the article. Although the abstract should explain why the article might be interesting, the importance of the work should not be over-emphasized. Citations should not be used in the abstract. Abbreviations, if needed, should be spelled out.

  6. Authors should supply up to eight relevant keywords that describe the subject of their article. These will improve the visibility of your article.

  7. The format of the main body of the article is flexible: it should be concise and well-structured to sure the point being made is clear, making it easy to read and review. Please provide an introduction to the topic, outlining existing opinions and/or models in the field, and ensure that your opinions and any statements are backed up by supporting information and references, as appropriate.
